Spring Lake artist Sharon Lange donated a painting, “The Light of Learning,” to St. Mary’s Catholic Church to help in their fundraising effort for their new educational center.

The presentation was made following the recent groundbreaking ceremony.

The painting is on display at the Gathering Space at the church. All proceeds from prints and notecards will go to the church for the building campaign.

Lange’s 2015 ArtPrize entry, “Freedom: Liberty Lighting Our Way,” is on display in the lobby of the Kent County Administration Building at the Calder Plaza in Grand Rapids. The 24-by-7-foot painting was selected to dovetail with the county building’s diversity initiative. It will be on display through the end of the year.

A framed print of the ArtPrize painting has been donated to the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund’s 11th annual Dinner Dance & Auction. It will be auctioned during the April 23 event at the MGM Grand in Detroit.

The local artist is also hosting a one-woman show of 11 of her paintings, now through May 3, at the First Methodist Church Gallery on Fulton Avenue in Grand Rapids.
