Parade, fireworks highlight Fourth of July celebrations

The Fourth of July will be a full and lively day in the Tri-Cities.

The public is invited to a free breakfast with Ferrysburg’s mayor at City Hall, 17290 Roosevelt Road, from 8-10 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., a parade will roam the streets of Ferrysburg before ending at William Ferry Park with a follow-up party. Lunch, live music, games and activities will promote patriotic spirits.

Following the Musical Fountain show in Grand Haven, fireworks will light up the skies. Reserving spots is not allowed until 12:01 a.m. Monday, as instructed by the city.

In Allendale, the holiday will be celebrated with a $6 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Engine House No. 5, parade on the Grand Valley State University campus at 10 a.m., family fun in the Allendale Community Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and fireworks at 10 p.m.
