SPRING LAKE VILLAGE — Bicyclists are invited to participate in a Ride of Silence at 7 p.m. today at Spring Lake Central Park. Meet in the parking lot behind the Ace Hardware store.

The slow, 8-mile ride serves as a remembrance for those cyclists injured or killed while riding a bicycle. It also serves as a reminder for motorists to take care around bicycles.

Tonight’s event is being dedicated to Nunica native Terry Welsh.

The 50-year-old Muskegon man was critically injured last October when his bicycle was struck by a car that ran a red light.
