Bowl-painting party benefits local food truck

The Grand Haven Eagles Women’s Auxiliary hosted a bowl-painting party last week to benefit a local food truck, as well as create one-of-a-kind soup bowls for the next Soup’s On Along the Lakeshore event.

Participants donated $20 to paint a bowl or mug on Thursday evening. An extra $5 got them a second bowl to keep or donate.

Bowl designs included everything from polka dots to birds, cheetah spots, flowers and a camper with the words “Trailer Trash.”

Some participants were handling their paint brushes for the first time, while others were accomplished artists.

Soup’s On Along the Lakeshore is an event that benefits the Catholic Charities of West Michigan. It will take place Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, starting at 6 p.m., at the Trillium Events Center, 17246 VanWagoner Road in Ferrysburg. Tickets are $40 per person.
