Several dozen homes on Grand Haven’s west side will be without water for part of the day Tuesday, May 1.

The city’s utilities department will be replacing a 6-inch water valve at the intersection of Beechwood Lane (also known as Poplar Ridge) and Glendale Drive in the Highland Park neighborhood next week. The work is expected to occur from Monday through Wednesday.

On Tuesday, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., the following addresses will be without water: 1160, 1170 and 1180 Highland Drive; 24-27, 40, 42, 43 and 51-54 Crescent Hill; 55, 57-60, 63-70 and 90-95 Poplar Ridge; 71 Beechwood Lane; and 80-84 Indian Trail.

Traffic will be very limited through the intersection during the three-day period, but the city will maintain a small through-lane. The through-lane will be closed at times during the project.

The city plans to have the road paved by the end of Wednesday.

Residents that have their water shut off are advised that there may be a slight discoloration of the water. You should run the water at full force in the bathtub or utility sink to clear it.
