Voting is underway for the Treehouse Design Challenge, with the winning entry to become part of the new play space at Mulligan’s Hollow.

More than 200 entries have been narrowed down to five finalists.

To vote, you can “like” your favorite design on the Facebook page titled “Imagination Station – Grand Haven.”

The design with the most votes by 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 25, will be declared the winner. The winner will work with designers and Leathers and Associates to help the blueprint come to life during build week, which is slated for Oct. 9-14.

Children in Young Fives through sixth grade in area schools could enter a design for the treehouse.

Reimagine Project co-chairperson Kristi Streng said the design challenge is another way to get children involved in their community.

“They’ll remember their involvement for years to come,” she said.

Local students also had a hand in designing the play space at Mulligan’s Hollow. The new play space is estimated to cost about $500,000.
