GRAND HAVEN TWP. — Northern Pipeline Contractors of Spring Lake will be completing the repair of a water main in Grand Haven Township that broke over the past winter, which will require the partial closure of 172nd Avenue between Hayes and Johnson streets next week.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 6, 172nd Avenue will be closed to through traffic as a 12-inch cast-iron water main is removed and replaced with a 12-inch ductile-iron main. The road closure is expected to last through Friday, Aug. 10.

The area of the road closure is near Actoflex Inc., 14261 172nd Ave. The road will be accessible from both Hayes and Johnson streets up to the point of construction.

“Replacement of the pipe is not expected to affect water service to any of the businesses along 172nd Avenue or adjoining streets,” said Mark VerBerkmoes, the township’s public services director.

Residents and businesses with further questions may contact the Grand Haven Township Public Services Department at 616-842-5988.
