Lakeside Trail will have closures, detours

SPRING LAKE — Walkers and bikers along Lakeside Trail in Spring Lake will be facing detours for the next two and a half weeks.

“The old wooden light poles on Lakeside Trail will be replaced with new Fiberglas poles and LED fixtures starting Wednesday,” said Village Manager Chris Burns.

The cost of the project is $147,900.

Contractors will be closing down sections of the trail to complete the work safely, working from east to west. The bike path between North Fruitport Road and Lake Avenue will be closed first, followed by Lake to Alden Street, then Alden to North Buchanan Street.

Detours will be posted.

“Please do not cross barriers,” Burns said. “Doing so endangers yourself and crew members and slows down the project. Follow the detours and be safe.”
