Kiwanis members participate in highway cleanup

• Oct 3, 2018 at 4:00 PM

The Tri-Cities Kiwanis Club, in conjunction with the state’s Adopt-A-Highway program, cleaned trash and debris along U.S. 31 from the Grand Haven drawbridge to Robbins Road this past weekend.

Kiwanis members participate in the clean-up twice a year.

In an effort to raise money and gain new members, the Kiwanis Club is hosting an event at Porto Bello from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9. In support of Kiwanis and their children’s programs, Porto Bello is sharing restaurant proceeds from 3 p.m. to close.

“It’s great businesses in our community like Porto that have helped sustain our children’s events,” said Bill Swano, fundraising chairman for the local Kiwanis.

Kiwanis meetings are held at noon Wednesdays at the Grand Haven Eagles. Visit www.TriCitiesKiwanis.org for more information.
