Update (4:25 p.m.) – According to the Board of Light and Power’s outage map, power is back online throughout Grand Haven.

Original Story

Crews from the Grand Haven Board of Light and Power have been dispatched to find the source of an outage that could be affecting several hundred customers Monday afternoon.

Power is out on both sides of Beacon Boulevard, as well as areas along Harbor Drive and out onto Harbor Island, according to the outage map. The map showed about 1,500 customers affected, as of 3:30 p.m.

The Grand Haven Tribune does have power, although the lights flickered at about 2:40 p.m.

This story will be updated when more information becomes available.

BLP Communications director Renee Molyneux said the outage was due to an equipment failure near the Third Street Bridge.

Crews isolated the problem, energized the system and will fix the problem as soon as possible, she said.
