Kathryn Ackerman struck again at this weekend’s Division 1 state championship swim meet, taking home gold-medal finishes in both of her individual events and leading two Grand Haven relays into the top seven.

Her 200-yard individual medley time of 1:57.25 broke her own Division 1 and All-Class state records, her own Grand Haven school record and the Eastern Michigan University pool record.

Her 100 butterfly time of 54.42 bested the defending champion, Rockford senior and Ohio State commit Morgan Kraus, and set a new Grand Haven varsity record.

The two gold-medal times secured Ackerman her sixth and seventh All-American Honors as a junior, reaffirming her position as the No. 1 swimming recruit in the state and No. 15 in the country.
