Harbor Humane Society welcomes Santa on Dec. 8

• Dec 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM

WEST OLIVE — Harbor Humane Society will be welcoming the public to their open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

A highlight of the open house is the opportunity to have your photo taken with Santa. The photo opportunity is free with a donation.

Harbor Humane Society representatives invite all previous adopters, supporters and anyone else to attend.

Harbor staff will be offering tours of the shelter, giving the community a glimpse into its many recent updates. You can also get a glimpse into the shelter’s day-to-day activity, veterinary care, adoption processes and more.

There will be a selection of local vendors on site, with items for sale and for donations to support the shelter pets. From essential oils for you and your pet and homemade signs for your home to handmade jewelry and candles, you can get your holiday shopping completed while supporting a good cause.

Children can decorate dog “cookies” from Decadent Dogs (for shelter pets or your own pet at home).

Guests are encouraged to bring donations for the shelter or a gift for their favorite shelter pet, which they can place in the animal’s stocking to be opened Christmas morning. You will find a wish list at www.harborhumane.org/donate, or call the shelter at 616-399-2119.

The shelter is located at the corner of Bagley Street and U.S. 31 in West Olive.
