SPRING LAKE — A local Brownie troop is doing its part to keep the Village of Spring Lake beautiful.

Troop 4723, with the help of troop leader Denise Kramer, recently designed and hung posters at Marv's Bark Park along Lakeside Trail to encourage people to pick up after themselves and their pets.

The posters read “Leave No Trace.”

Kramer also leads the local Girl Scout troop that designed the downtown Arbor Day banners.

“The village loves it when young people take an active interest in environmental issues,” Village Manager Chris Burns said. “It's so important to start these conversations with kids at a young age and in a meaningful way. We are so appreciative for their efforts to keep our village beautiful and make it a great place to recreate.”
