Hundreds of spectators filled Waterfront Stadium and beyond for the first event in the newly renovated space along the Grand Haven channel.

Hawk Nelson, a Canadian Christian rock and pop punk band from Peterborough, Ontario, opened the Worship on the Waterfront season on the new stage in front of the crowd on the terraced stadium, in bleachers, scattered along the seawall and on boats.

The crowd cheered and sang along with popular songs such as “Words,” “Drops in the Ocean,” “Diamonds” and “Live Like Your Loved.”

The event culminated a busy weekend in Grand Haven that included an art festival, Soccer in the Sand tournament, MSU Gran Fondo bicycle ride, baseball tournament and garden walk.
