With Video: GHHS choirs host spring concert

The Grand Haven High School choirs held their annual spring concert, titled “Count on Me,” on Thursday, May 16, 2019. 

The concert featured performances by the Advanced Women’s Ensemble, Bella Voce, Choral Ensemble and Chamber Choir. 

In addition, the following students performed solos or duets: Oliver Wolf, Samantha Korecki, Kaleb Burr, George Fullerton, Collin Byrd, Kensley Schenkel, Collin Gural, Libby Haan, Miriam DeYoung, MacKenzie Hornak, Tiana Staehlin, Rylee Horton, Tess Decker, Natalie Currie, Landon Barrett and Bobby Fisher. 

During the event, Hornak was named the Vocal Music Department Student of the Year

“She in every way exemplifies a student in the Grand Haven choir program vocally,” said choir director Juli Dick.  Hornak, a senior, will study music and vocal performance at the University of Mobile in Alabama. 

Horton received the National School Choral Award. She will study music education at Muskegon Community College.
