“They’re looking to develop a two-story office building for Gazillion & One,” City Planner Kristin Turkelson said, adding she felt the new development would be an asset to Columbus Avenue.

Gazillion and One Inc. is a local marketing and consulting business for schools and credit unions. It is currently is located on Seventh Street.

The new building will be at 128 Columbus Ave., across from Covenant Life Church and next to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post. The property is currently vacant after the former building on the site was demolished last year.

In 2011, Grand Haven City Council approved an amendment to the city’s brownfield plan that allowed for the redevelopment of the site, which previously housed a bowling alley that was turned into an office.

According to Turkelson, the new building would be 12,800 square feet and would also include eight parking spaces for employees. Turkelson said the property is located within the city’s parking assessment district, so the builder didn’t need to supply their own parking.

Based on the proposal submitted to the city’s planning department from developers, the new structure would have a brick-clad facade, with an elevator shaft/stairwell being covered in an architectural metal facade.
