Cynthia R. Johnson, 52, passed away at 12:04 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, in Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Cindy was born December 31, 1964, in Niles, Mich., to David C. and Judith A. (Barker) Vinnedge. 

On June 20, 1987, in St. John’s United Church of Christ in Niles, Cindy married Todd M. Johnson. He survives along with her parents; daughter, Kaila R. Johnson; son, Kevin M. Johnson; sister, Michelle L. (Curtis) Webber; brother, David M. Vinnedge; father-in-law, Robert L. Johnson; sisters-in-law, Robin L. (Steve) Schillaci and Vicki L. (Steve) Olsen; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a multitude of cats. Cindy was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Marcia S. Johnson.

Cindy graduated from Ferris State College with an associate’s degree in commercial art, where she met her husband, Todd. She was extremely creative, having her own Premier jewelry business and custom cookie business called the Baked Piper. She was very family orientated and loved her family very much. Animals and their welfare were also very important to Cindy. She was a Girl Scout and was with the Girl Scouts for over 30 years, and volunteered for just about every position available.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles. A Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, in St. John’s United Church of Christ, 601 Sycamore St. in Niles.
