Robert Richardson

Robert L. “Bob” Richardson, age 83, of Grand Haven passed away September 11, 2017, at a local nursing home.

He was born May 20, 1934, in Saginaw, Mich., to the late Frank and Ortelle (Knight) Richardson. Bob married Shirley Constantine on August 25, 1956, in Nunica.

He was employed for 27 years with Challenge Stamping & Porcelain Co. and held many different positions including personnel. Bob then worked for Bayer Co. (now Prince Corp.) in sales and service and, after retiring in 1998, he continued to work as a consultant.

Bob was an active member of All Shores Wesleyan Church. He served on the advisory board for Once & Again Resale Store owned by Grand Haven Christian School, having a passion for the store’s purpose to lower tuition for the children. Bob loved to play softball, basketball, enjoyed watching sports on TV and fishing in Canada.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; his son, Robert F. Richardson, Ph.D., of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Barbara Whitaker of Murrieta, Calif., and Jan Hale of Grandville, Mich.; and in-laws, Kenneth (Mary) Constantine and Madlyn Constantine. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail Curtis and Lorraine Hass; and brother, James Richardson.

The Funeral Service for Bob will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, at All Shores Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ralph Baynum officiating. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
