He was preceded in death by his parents, Hio and Ethel (Barthal) Donselar; his wife, Faye J. Donselar (Nov. 9, 2017); sisters, Evelyn VanderVeen and Helen Jean Martin; brothers: Aldine Donselar, Leslie Donselar and Charles Donselar; brothers-in-laws: Donald VanderVeen, Ken Martin and Cecil Sly; and sisters-in law, Helen Donselar and Eileen Donselar. He is survived by his sons: Gordon (Nora) Maciejewski of Sacramento, California, Billy Maciejewski of Clovis, New Mexico, and David (Amy) Donselar of Alexandria, Virginia; his daughters, Debra (Tim) Dively of Tacoma, Washington, and Penny (Mark) Garlock of Spring Lake, Michigan; sisters, Constance Sly and Pat Stille of Grand Haven, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, coin collecting and spending time with his family. He was a member of the VFW Post 2326 and the American Legion Post 28. He retired after 20 years with the United States Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He also retired, after 20 years, from the Grand Haven post office.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the VFW Post 2326 were Bill’s wish. He has requested that there be no formal funeral services.
