She was born January 8, 1932, to James and Ruth (Carlson) Wigginton in Evanston, Illinois, and lived most of her life in Grand Haven. Fran was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven, were she was very active. She was an elementary school teacher for Grand Haven Area Public Schools and ended her career at Robinson Elementary School.
Frances was an avid quilter, bridge player and gardener, but most of all she loved to watch her grandchildren play their various sports and other activities. In her retirement, she continued to volunteer selling script for the Grand Haven Band and Orchestra Parents Association. She also volunteered at various elementary schools in Grand Haven, and Prescott and Phoenix, Arizona, helping children in their reading programs.
Frances is survived by her five children: Kenneth (Sheila) Reinecke, William Reinecke, Mary Beth (Jim) VanDyke, Margaret Reinecke and Susan Reinecke; 13 grandchildren: Jason (Jen), Daniel, Calvin (Jody), James (Brittany), Austin, Timothy, Ben, Shaine, Will, Jaclyn (Brett), Alex, Jeanna and Casey Sue; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jo Ranton and Nancy (Jack) Forristel.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth; grandson, Jacob Reinecke; and brother-in-law, Loran Ranton.
Per Frances’ wishes, her body was donate to Life Sciences and her ashes will be interned at the Memorial Garden at the Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven.
