Ernamae (Wills) Weidner left this world for her home in Heaven on March 5, 2018, at Sunny Vista Living Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Ernamae was born June 27, 1934, in Spring Lake, Mich., to George Hunter Wills and Edna (Lewis) Wills; and moved to Grand Haven, Mich., as an infant.

She attended the Grand Haven schools, graduating in 1952. She went on to graduate from Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College and her master’s degree from Western Michigan University. She taught in the Fruitport (Mich.) Elementary School for 14 years, and then upon moving to Colorado taught for 20 years at the Colorado Springs Christian School until her retirement in 1999. She continued her teaching skills by working with the 501(c) organization called A Child’s Heart, transposing the Valerie Acuff curriculum into a children’s program, and piloting this program into an after-school program for disadvantaged kids.

Ernamae enjoyed the beach (when in Grand Haven), hiking, singing in the choir, and listening or participating in children’s programs. She attended Village 7 Presbyterian Church, and her memorial service will be held at the Mountain View Mortuary, with interment at the Limerick Garden Memories in Limerick, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Roger “Bill” Weidner; her daughter, Mary E. (Calvin) Feik; her sister, Verlabeth (Wills-Baldus) Thomas; and sisters-in-law: Ann Wills, Sharon Wills and Phyllis Weidner; brother-in-law, Fred DeVilbiss; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In remembrance of Ernamae, a donation may be given to A Child’s Heart, in care of Jackie Cotton at 4925 Park Vista Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO.
