He was born in Big Rapids, MI on July 22, 1933, to Frederick and Edna (Tribe) Richardson and served his country in the US National Guard after graduating from Grand Haven High School. He married the former Johanna Beck on April 16, 1955, and had been employed as a machinist for Gardner-Denver for 25 years until retiring. After retiring they lived in Las Vegas for 30 years until moving back to Grand Haven. Carl was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Golden Member Eagle No. 925 Grand Haven.
