Mr. Edward “Ed” Fosheim, age 91, formerly of Grand Haven, died in Carrollton, Texas, on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Ed was born March 7, 1928, in Grand Haven to Anton and Iva Fosheim. He was a 1946 graduate of Grand Haven High School, class president, and played on the school’s football, basketball and tennis teams.

After graduation, Ed joined the U.S. Navy with four of his classmates and served from 1946-48. Ed attended and graduated from then Michigan State College and later received his MBA. While in college, Ed married Elizabeth (Betty) Knapp from Muskegon, a union lasting 64 years.

Following a two-year stint in the U.S. Army, Ed began a 35-year career in 1954 with Keller Tool in Grand Haven and its later acquiring companies Gardner-Denver and Cooper Industries. His career took him to Quincy, Illinois, in 1959 and later to Dallas and back to Quincy. While in Grand Haven, Ed was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. Retirement brought Ed and his wife back to Texas to be with their kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed his summer escapes to his beloved Michigan, playing racquetball, tennis and golf, watching sports on TV, particularly his Spartans, and debating with Texans the merits of Big Ten sports versus the Big 12 conference.

He is survived by his three children: sons Michael (Susan) and Andrew Fosheim, a daughter Kristen Baginski; and four grandchildren: Erik and Matthew Fosheim and John and Mark Baginski of the Dallas area. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Ivan and Jack Fosheim; twin sister, Evelyn; and son-in-law, Steve Baginski.

Rites of cremation of have been conferred with inurnment scheduled later this summer in Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any memorials be made to either the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America ( or the Chaddock School ( in Quincy, Illinois.
