George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked at Oldberg’s for many years, was a former first responder for Crockery Township, and was an auto mechanic who loved operating the tow truck. George was a member of Four Pointes Senior Center and former member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Melvin and Adam (Brenda) Rowell; two grandchildren, Kylee and Levi; two sisters, Emily (Jesse) Jewell and Betty (Jack) Wydeck, both of Grand Haven; and brother, Charles (Carla) Rowell of Canton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, June and Mike Johnson.
The Memorial Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, in the multipurpose room at Pinewood Place, 1500 S. Ferry St. Full Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion, Charles A.
