David A. Hills, of Chicago and formerly of Grand Haven, died Sunday, May 5, 2019.

Dave was born June 11, 1965, to John and Gwendolyn (Hughes) Hills in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1983 and Albion College in 1987 with a degree in economics, after which he began working in commercial banking in Chicago. Dave received his M.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1991, then returned to Chicago. Dave pursued many interests including tennis, skiing, running, sailing, researching family genealogy, traveling and his life-long passion: cars. During his life, he owned many cars including several "classic" cars. Two of his great experiences were a trip to Australia with the University of Michigan's first Solar Car Race Team in 1990, and attending the 2018 Indianapolis 500, which was a Father's Day present from his children.

Dave is survived by his children, Brad and Audrey Hills of Chicago; his father, John Hills of Grand Haven; his brother, Mark Hills and family of Grand Haven; one aunt; and cousins throughout the country. He was preceded in death by his mother.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church, 530 W. Fullerton Parkway, Chicago, IL, at 3 p.m.

At the request of his children, a fund has been established through Dave's church that will benefit families dealing with terminal illness. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church, David Hills Fund.
