Norma Doris Vos, age 99 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

She was born on January 20, 1920 in Holland, Michigan, to the late Joachim and Matilda (Scharlau) Seekamp. Norma married Raymond Vos on November 30, 1945 upon his return from WWII, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1999.

Norma graduated from Holland High School in 1938. She was a very involved 70 year member of United Methodist Church of the Dunes, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, and volunteered in the office and other committees. Norma worked as a secretary until her marriage, and enjoyed being a homemaker as a loving wife and mother.

She was active in ladies golf leagues throughout her community and church, and was proud of the hole-in-one she achieved in her late 60’s. Norma also enjoyed reading, walking, riding her bike, and working on crossword puzzles. In Norma’s earlier years, her and Ray enjoyed many adventures traveling together. She was known for initiating many Saturday night card games with her family.

Norma will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Sue (Ken) Bross of Nunica and Carol (Al Wood) Warner of Grand Haven; son, Gary (Donna) Vos of Portland, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear and close friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

A Celebration of Life at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes will be held at a later date.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or United Methodist Church of the Dunes. Please visit to sign Norma’s online guestbook.
