Mr. Michael Eugene Rothi, age 71, of Ferrysburg, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Hackley Hospital. He was born February 12, 1948, in Grand Haven to Eugene and Ruth (Casemier) Rothi.

Mike graduated from Grand Haven High School, where he participated on the football and tennis teams. Mike then attended Ferris State University, until the draft for the Vietnam War. He proudly served his country from 1968 to 1969 in the United States Army. Mike worked as a sales manager for Crouse Supply Company in Ferrysburg for many years, and also worked for Younkers Supply and Ferguson Supply of Muskegon.

Mike was a real people person who enjoyed making his rounds around the Tri-Cities, talking to the clerks and friends at the gas stations, grocery stores and coffee houses. He could often be found later in the day at the VFW in Grand Haven and Norton Shores, and American Legion Post 28. Mike, "Papa," loved fishing, fireworks and having a beer. While living on Smith’s Bayou, he hosted “Turtlefest,”and was known as "Big Blast." Also special to him were the years spent golfing at 6 a.m. with "Uncle Frank.”
