The Fruitport boys soccer team couldn’t get anything going against O-K Black Conference rival Mona Shores on Thursday, falling to the Sailors, 5-0.

Mona Shores jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead, and added another goal in the second half for the shutout road win over the Trojans.

“It was just not our night tonight,” said Fruitport head coach Greg Kobylak. “Credit to Mona Shores, they were great in the areas we were not today. We will regroup tomorrow, get past this bump in our journey and prepare for the weeks ahead.”

The Trojans return to the pitch at Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday followed by a home match against Reeths-Puffer on Thursday.
