The Spring Lake and Holland Christian swimming and diving teams were evenly matched on Tuesday — literally.

The Lakers and Maroons tied in their dual meet at Spring Lake High School, 93-93.

"This was probably the craziest swim meet I've ever witnessed,” said Spring Lake coach Jason Lintjer. “Countless close races. Two great division three teams going at it."

Spring Lake won two individual events and a relay. Drew Fogel took the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 1.7 seconds, while Grant Stille came out on top in the 50 freestyle (22.72).

Stille joined Eric Schock, Marshall Bailey and Jacob Weesies to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.51)

Where the Lakers really hurt the Maroons was with their depth, Spring Lake finished second and third place in six of the 12 events.
