The Lakers raised $3,280 for TCM Counseling, took down five records and defeated Grand Rapids Catholic Central by a final score of 100-72, while celebrating the careers of Cam Peel, Eric Geschiere, Ed Lidke, Johnathon Meulenbelt, Evan Schock, Sam Sella, and Andrew and Ben Hylen.
Peel led the way with multiple record-breaking swims, starting with pool and school records in the 200-yard individual medley at 1:54.14. Peel went on to take the pool and school record in the 100 butterfly, as well, with a time of 50.96 seconds.
Joey Wachter added on to the record-breaking night by taking down the pool record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.56.
Also winning events for the Lakers were the 200 medley relay team of Wachter, Schock, Charles Brown and Sella at 1:42.30; K.J. Losee in the 200 butterfly at 1:53.87 – swimming butterfly – and the 500 freestyle at 4:51.13; Wachter in the 50 freestyle at 21.71; Sella in the 100 freestyle at 51.01; the 200 freestyle relay team of Peel, Geschiere, Lidke and Losee at 1:30.28; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Peel, Sella, Wachter and Losee.
