Performed by local theater group Central Park Players, “Grease” begins Friday, March 4, and plays through Saturday, March 12.
Get out your leather jackets, pull on your bobby socks and take a trip to the fabulous 1950s with the original rock ‘n roll high school musical, “Grease.” Bad boy Danny and good girl Sandy meet and fall in love in the original stage production featuring the irresistible songs from the Broadway show and hit movie.
“This show is the perfect follow-up to the live television special that just aired in February” said she show’s producer, Michelle Prince. “We’re lucky we scheduled our version of ’Grease’ right when it is getting so much public attention.”
CPP’s staged version includes all of the beloved music that was written for the 1978 movie including “Hand Jive,” “Greased Lightning,” “You’re the One That I Want” and more.
Central Park Player’s production of “Grease” will be led by Mary McGinnis as Sandy Dombrowski, Egan Porter as Danny Zuko, Rachel Bethke as Betty Rizzo and Chaz Bratton as Kenickie. Also featured will be Tiana Staehlin (Patty Simcox), McCulla Kosch (Marty), Carson Reau (Sonny), Chris Chalupa (Vince Fontaine/Teen Angel), Jessica Draper (Cha-Cha), Lisa Longpre (Miss Lynch), Lucas Roetter (Roger), Leonard Poole (Eugene), Alexander Stepanek (Doody), Kayla Raschke (Jan), Alexis Perez (Frenchy) and Brian Bialowas (Johnny Casino).
The chorus is comprised of Garrett Breeden, Shelby Courtois, Isabelle Dwyer, Brittany Gundy, Abbie Holmberg, Madison Hughes, Lindsey Joyce, Amy Lalick, Tahlia Lehmann, Gabe Rutherford, Aurora Shewmake, Sarah Stepanek and Gabi Tomes.
The creative team for “Grease” is made up of Jim Query (director), Kevin Prince, (assistant director/stage manager), Shaylynn Chalupa (choreographer), Brenda Jeisy (music direction), Lisa Hilliard (costume design), Joe Andersen (lighting design), and Trudi Kerkstra (wig and hair designer).
Tickets for the “Grease” are priced from $10-12. The five performances are March 4-12, Friday-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
