A winter weather advisory for periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain that will cause travel difficulties is in effect for Ottawa, Kent, Ionia and Clinton counties is in effect until midnight Friday.

Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Additional accumulations are possible over the weekend, especially south and east of Grand Rapids.

Friday night: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. North-northeast wind around 7 mph.
