Severe thunderstorm watch just changed to warning

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect in several West Michigan counties, including Ottawa County, until 10 p.m. Sunday.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will move through West Michigan this evening. Winds up to 70 mph and hail up to the size of quarters will be possible with the stronger storms. Frequent lightning will also accompany the thunderstorms.

Heat and humidity will continue to be hazardous through early evening to those without air conditioning. Scattered thunderstorms will move across West Michigan tonight...with some of the storms producing potentially damaging wind gusts. Lightning...small hail and brief heavy rainfall will also accompany the stronger storms.

Thunderstorms will again be possible Wednesday through Friday.
