It is with great sadness that the family of Scott W. Gleason announce his passing on July 2, 2019, at his residence in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Scott is survived by his mother, Betty (Bobbi) Gleason of Spring Lake, Michigan; brother, Matthew Gleason of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister, Jennifer Douse, and brother in-law, Edward Douse, of Lake Wylie, S.C.; niece, Hailey Hodges of Charlotte, N.C.; and nephew, Hunter Douse of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, William Gleason.
Scott was born May 12, 1956, and raised in Grand Haven. After graduating from Grand Haven High School in 1974, he continued his education at Grand Valley State College. At the age of 22, Scott relocated south in pursuit of warmer weather and found paradise in Palm Beach, Florida, where he remained for 41 years perfecting two of his favorite passions: year-round golf and saltwater fishing. Scott owned and operated a successful masonry business for several years; then, later retired and for the past three years was employed with Ibis Golf & Country Club.
A private memorial at sea, scattering of ashes, at Scott’s request, will be held later.
Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear?”
Scott had a fondness for large breed dogs. Memorials may be made in Scott’s name to the Humane Society/Shelters or charities of your choice.
