GRAND RAPIDS — With the first day of fall singing true to its name, the world’s most attended public art event is well underway in West Michigan.

More than 750 artists representing 15 different countries drew back the curtain on their own compositions on Sept. 15 in Grand Rapids in hopes of taking home a portion of $250,000 in prize money. ArtPrize, the 18-day interactive, international art competition that is expected to draw nearly 2 million spectators in 2022, runs through Oct. 2.
