Timothy Groenhout, 39, of Grand Rapids went missing on Jan. 21 from downtown Grand Rapids.
His family believes Tim was headed on foot to cash a check and go to a second round of job interviews for a chef position at a downtown restaurant on Jan. 21. The check was never cashed and Tim did not arrive for his interview, his stepmother, Joan Groenhout said.
“Tim’s body has been recovered from the river and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning, said Joan.
“While it’s an incredibly difficult thing to go through, we are grateful to have found him,” she said.
Funeral arrangements are pending and are being handled by VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven.
