Gallery of the Week: Railroad Swing Bridge

The swing bridge that takes the trains over the Grand River from Grand Haven to Ferrysburg has been around since 1869. It's still in use today, as CSX freight trains cross it about twice a day. And you will often spot guys fishing off the stationary parts of the bridge. Please note that the photographer did not cross the first bridge that was posted "no trespassing." However, the stub up to the swing bridge was not posted. He did not (nor was even able to) go on to the swing bridge itself. And, of course, there was no train in sight.
