#TBT – Looking back at this week in 1992

Each week, we dig through our archive of negatives to bring you a collection of photos from days gone by. This week, we look back at late October and early November, 1992. This week marked an incredible range of emotions across the Tri-Cities. Those who lived here at time time will remember Grand Haven's soccer team winning a regional championship. That same night, one of its star players, Adam Provencal, was killed in a tragic Halloween night incident. We've included several photos of Adam in this gallery – he wore No. 17 for the Bucs. Out of respect for his family, many of whom still live in the area, we chose not to share photos of his funeral. You'll notice Adam's initials – AP – on the jerseys of the Bucs soccer players in their semifinal game against Plymouth Salem, which was played just days following his death. Twenty-five years later, Adam's memory lives on through #AdamsActs – people offering unsolicited acts of kindness to others.
