A new point was added to the city’s Walk of Coast Guard History on Friday afternoon during a special ceremony held in front of Grand Haven City Hall. This year’s point honor’s the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Escanaba, built in 1932, stationed in Grand Haven, deployed to World War II in 1941, and sunk in 1943. The new point is located at Escanaba Park.
