Canela was pregnant and homeless in Flint. She was frightened, wary, unapproachable.
And then, a little more than a year ago, a nonprofit agency in West Michigan stepped in and placed Canela with foster mom Tammy Miedema in Grandville. However, the dog remained frightened, wary and unapproachable.
