Deer in distress?

Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the shores of Lloyd’s Bayou in Spring Lake Township on Monday afternoon for a group of deer out on the ice of the Grand River. Several of the deer had fallen into the river, but eventually pulled themselves back onto the ice. However, a group of onlookers on shore deterred the deer from heading toward solid ground. Officers on scene directed passersby to keep their distance, giving the deer a clear path to exit the ice.
