The Grand Haven school board has been hearing complaints for the past two years from concerned parents about inappropriate material inside the district’s school libraries.

On Monday evening, the board, along with the district’s curriculum director, Mary Jane Evink, responded with their latest initiatives in front of a full house at Lakeshore Middle School’s gymnasium. After a lengthy comment section, Evink informed the audience of parent control with media center materials and the “reconsideration process.”
