Michigan’s Secretary of State will mail out applications for all residents to cast absentee ballots for the May 5 election.

Several key township posts in Northwest Ottawa County will in all likelihood be decided on the Republican Party side of the Aug. 4 primary.

The incumbent supervisors in Crockery, Grand Haven and Spring Lake townships all have challengers in the primary. None of them will face a Democrat candidate in November.
