1 On the ballot: A look at contested races in Ottawa County

Candidates are gearing up for the Aug. 4 primary election, which includes many contested seats in the county.

While it may be a few months out from the state primary election on Aug. 4, one deadline for running for some of the many offices on the ballot has come and gone.

Candidates hoping to submit an Affidavit of Identity needed to have their forms submitted by May 5. However, write-in candidates may still file a candidate declaration of intent by 4 p.m. July 24.
