The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Act on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Act this week, completing the first step in ensuring that funding for the Great Lakes extends beyond fiscal year 2021.

The House voted 373-45 to approve the GLRI act on Wednesday. Among the co-sponsors of the bill are Reps. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, and Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph. Huizenga also co-chairs the House Great Lakes Task Force.
