The Ottawa County Department of Public Health and the Michigan Bureau of Laboratories have reported three recent positive rabies cases in bats from Ottawa County.

The Ottawa County health department has heightened its concern over the recent increase in bats testing positive for rabies.

Three bats from Ottawa County recently submitted for testing came up positive for the virus. Two of them were from Holland and one was from Hudsonville, according to the Michigan Bureau of Laboratories.
