GRAND RAPIDS — U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge announced Tuesday that Zachary John Kennedy (aka “Zeus”) of Muskegon was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in federal prison, followed by five years’ supervised release, by U.S. District Judge Paul L. Maloney for drug trafficking in West Michigan.

Kennedy spent years conspiring with others to sell illegal drugs — including heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine and methamphetamine — throughout West Michigan, Birge said. During the conspiracy, Kennedy personally sold large quantities of methamphetamine, which included arranging a 2-ounce meth deal in November 2019 and a 10-ounce deal in December 2020.
