Volunteers prepare last year’s Community Feast at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. The 2020 feast will only offer curbside pick-up and delivery on Thanksgiving, and reservations must be made by 3 p.m. Friday.

SPRING LAKE — Due to COVID-19, the Thanksgiving experience will be different for many this year, including for volunteers and recipients of the 27th annual Community Feast based at a local church.

While the feast will go on, there will be no dine-in option at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, as in previous years. Free Thanksgiving dinners will be available for curbside pick-up service from noon to 2 p.m. and for delivery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26.

This year’s Community Feast will be held in memory of the late Rev. Richard Rhem, who died in February after years of service to Christ Community Church in Spring Lake.
