The gales of November are here, and they have affected ships all over the Great Lakes this past week.

The tug/barge Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson and motor vessel Kaye E. Barker were en route to Grand Haven last Wednesday but ducked into Good Harbor Bay near Traverse City that afternoon to shelter from oncoming weather. My friend Logan Vasicek is a cadet at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City and was able to photograph both vessels anchored.
