Local developer Denny Cherette says he has built more apartment complexes than he can count. The Cherette Group typically focuses on large-scale projects featuring several hundred units.

So, his latest project – the Tribune building at 101 N. Third St. in Grand Haven – is slightly out of character for Cherette.

A sad passing of a once great small town newspaper, The paper is a shadow of its former self.

Yes, the Tribune sure isn't what it once was. I think it's called 'progress' in the minds of some. Sad to see more condos, apartments in the city, but it's what the city fathers want apparently, only because of the tax base. We were driving through G.H. with out of town friends and there comment was, "Sure glad I don't live here. The town's too small for all this congestion', which I totally agreed with. Sad!
